Compare to Less Effective Solutions · Sound insulation is costly. · Recorded music and radio remedies for masking sound are flawed
as they contain many "risky," silent pauses where crucial privacy
may be lost. · Heaters and fans are often loud or disruptive and must be turned off as the weather changes. Adjusting Volume & Tone Volume and tone of this unique electro-mechanical device can be
regulated as follows:
- The on-off switch can be adjusted to loud or soft on the dual-speed model, while the single-speed model offers a medium tone.
- The top of the device can be rotated to expose sound openings. This adjustment will change both the volume and tone (both models).
- The adjustable side collar can further control tone and volume. (both models).
The Sound Screen Needs No Hardware or Mounting The Marpac Sound Screen fits conveniently in a variety of
horizontal locations. It is self-standing and requires no hardware
or mounting. Placement on floor, carpet, under or on top of an end
table, on a bookcase or other shelf are all acceptable. If
desired, one can even build a small wall shelf to place the Sound Screen
at any location or height desired. If an AC
outlet is not close to your choice of placement, an extension cord will
work fine. Additional Uses Sleep, read or study more easily. Use the Sound Screen to
mask distracting noises coming from outside the room by placing the unit
inside the bedroom, study or office. The
Sound Screen is excellent for reducing noise from traffic, televisions,
or stereos. Great for college students! Positioning the Sound Screen
To mask emanating sound and increase privacy, the Sound Screen should be placed outside the therapy room, by the wall or doorway. One or
more Sound Screens will help prevent other clients, family members or
staff from hearing any private conversations. Move the
Sound Screen around until you find the optimal location for your own
office situation. Specific
office needs will vary. The number and location of Sound Screens
required will depend on size of hallway or waiting room space, number of
offices and volume of emanating conversations. When
sound insulation is inadequate between two adjacent therapy rooms, Sound
Screens should be placed inside each therapy room.
